ince the server went from Panther to Tiger, and much of the core stuff got upgraded as well (PHP 4 -> 5, MySQL 3.x -> 4.x, Apache 1.x -> 2.x, Python stuff, fresh new TeX install, etc etc), many tiny things have been acting weird and I've slowly been finding them and cleaning the place up. In particular the RSS feeds got messy because the date formatting between PHP and MySQL changed, and the auto-TeX rendering still has a missing link in the chain somewhere. Just takes time to find it all. Sorry if this has caused any RSS headaches with any readers.
All that said, the server upgrade has been a big shot in the arm as far as being able to get a move on some back-end changes that I've been wanting to get to for forever. The server runs faster, and now Spotlight lets me find stuff inside any piece of code, something I've been looking forward to. The move gave me a good reason to buy a nice big new external drive and to have the space to rearrange things and actually find what happened to a lot of lost files, programs, projects, etc. Let's see how fast I fill this new drive.
Also going through the code for this blogging system and moving it up to better PHP5 form and going to implement a nice new exception handling system I've been dreaming up.
If anyone notices something I may have missed, or if the new server is doing something not as well as it used to, feel free to let me know in the forum below.
