O k, now that this blog is nominally up and running to some extent, I'm going to promptly take a nice 6 day break from it. When I get back, I think the order of events on this page will be: put these entries into the database, hook up a proper object to retrieve blog data, create a linking system for individual blog pages, hook up discussion forums to blog entries and then make it all easily managed on my side. From there: RSS, links, search, etc.

For those who don't know me and have stumbled on this page, I'm writing my own blogging system based on a PHP system I already use to design websites. I'll be initially blogging about the creation of this system as I go. I'm doing this because I've never been completely happy with the blog systems out there I've seen and because I like to program. John claims it's because I'm procrastinating and am avoiding actually getting anything done. I'm sure he's right, but…

So far it's just this one page and the one discussion forum below. This will rapidly change when I get back.
